Zoe Katherine is here!

Tuesday, June 28th, was the day!
She was born at 8:04, weighed in at 8 lbs, and was 21" long.
It was a pleasant experience I guess aside from the sawing of the hip bone feeling, headaches, and cut in the abdomen, and occasional vomiting afterward. I managed to have a spinal work so I could be awake and Isy could be in there for the birth too.

The first couple days after she was here were a little rough. Of course, we were up every 2 hours for her to eat. She and I were trying to breastfeed. That didn't work out, for a few reasons. Come Thursday morning, Isy told the nurses we'd gladly take a bottle for Zoe. Let's just say we had a much happier baby and mommy.

We're starting to get back into the hang of life with a newborn. Only, we have to get in the hang of life with a newborn and a little girl who is in the TERRIBLE twos. Add school into the mix and I don't know how long we will survive. I'm starting to be more thankful for the fact that we have moved back to Grenada. What's worse: driving to Cleveland everyday or not having any family around to help with the kids when needed.

Maggs is doing pretty well adjusting to the baby. She's starting to call her Zoe instead of baby now. She tried to hold her at least a couple times a day and loves to help me burp her now. She's a lot more gentle with Zoe than I expected. We were very afraid that she was going to call her 'Poopie" instead. Luckily, that was a very short lived nickname.

Now, for pictures and a video.

And the video. Maggs just met Zoe for the first time. This was the day after Zoe was born ( Excuse my nastiness; focus on the adorable babies!). I left that Monday and Isy told her that I was going to get the baby every time she asked where I was. This is there first encounter.

Last days as a family of 3!

We're down to our last 2 days as a family of 3. Maggs still doesn't understand too much about what's going. I'm starting to freak out beyond belief. Isy seems pretty unaffected by it right now.

For GREAT news, Maggs is actively potty training. She woke up from nap one day this week and decided it was time. We've had a couple accidents, but not too much. She's pooped in the potty once, so I'm hoping that continues. We haven't started wearing panties to bed yet. I think we will at nap time once she gets the daytime potty thing down pat. I'm not ready to interrupt her 12 hour nights. I'm selfish. With a new baby waking up all the time, I don't think I want to turn that into 2 babies up during the night.

For a cute Maggie story . . . I bought her a new fork and spoon the other day. Walmart had some super cute Elmo ones (which you know from the previous blog; she loves Elmo). I bought them thinking she would absolutly love them, and she did. We had to eat as soon as she opened them. While she was eating her pasta, she took a break to give her Elmo fork 2 hugs and a kiss. I thought this was slightly adorable, but to increase that adorableness, I see her try to feed the fork some pasta (He has a slightly opened mouth). Eating will never be the same.

Now the pictures. Some are from Easter and her birthday.

Almost There!

We've had so many changes since the last blog. Let's see where to start.

We moved back to Grenada about a month ago. I'm so very excited to be out of the delta. We have what we consider to be a pretty awesome apartment on the edge of town. It's only about 10 minutes away from everything though. I managed to get my out of town living and Isy got his close to town. What a wonderful compromise.

Isy's almost done with school. He'll student teach this semester and graduate in December, Lord willing. I'm nervous for him as he starts this semester. I'll be so excited when he graduates. I've got one year left. The hardest semester yet and then I'll student teach. I'm already getting nervous about that. I'll be driving to DSU next semester everyday. I'm looking forward to lots of sleepless nights, long drives, tons of money devoted to gas, and coffee just to get by.
He's got a job at a new locally owned restaurant in town. I'm pretty sure he really likes. He's talked about getting some type of cooking degree when he graduates. We'll be thinking about that until December gets here.

Maggs just turned 2! She had a great party. It was all about Elmo this time. I got her to try skating in the baby skates for the first time. She's so independent; she didn't want any help from anyone. Sadly, I don't have the pictures from that yet.

And Zoe. Don't think I forgot about her. She'll be here on the 28th. Unless she decides she's ready before then, we have a c-section scheduled for that Tuesday. 2 weeks! I'm so very ready to be unpregnant and miserable. I'll get to spend my 22nd birthday coming off of morphine. Maggs is noticing all the stuff that's for baby but not exactly sure what's going on. There's all this talk of baby and Zoe but no baby for her to see. She gets stuff and ask if it's for baby or Maggie.

Now for some pictures.
This first one is Maggs at the restaurant Isy works at. It's got a really nice family environment. The inside of the car just has the bench seat covered in a pink shag fabric and a TV in the front so the kids can watch TV while they wait or just play in the car- Maggs' favorite.

It's a Girl!

We finally got our much anticipated ultrasound at 30 weeks along. I've been calling the baby a boy and telling Maggs all about her brother being in mommy's tummy, but she's not having a brother yet. She's having a baby sister named Zoe Katherine. Hopefully, they'll be best friends and share their daddy with each other. I sure hope that Isy won't have to be the only guy in the family forever. He's already the only non-June birthday.
Now for a cute Maggie story. The other night Isy had to go to a class at night and Maggs and I were home alone and happened to be watching The Singing Bee and she was playing with a flashlight. She'd get so excited when someone finished singing and they'd clap. She'd scream yay and clap and wave her arms every time. At some point in the show when it was down to the final two contestants, she catches my attention by saying a word that I've never heard her say. I see her standing in the floor facing the tv, swaying, holding the flashlight to her mouth, and singing along with the contestant. This was the most adorable thing in the world. Once they were done, she turned to me and made me clap and yay for them. She did the same thing with the next contestant and I wished so hard the whole time that I had access to my camera at that moment.

Pictures I mentioned

finally catching up

I've gotten so far behind on my blogging. Because of that, this blog will mostly be pictures from Christmas and other random things I've taken. There's a couple videos I want to put up also.

Maggs is doing tons of extra cute stuff these day. Daddy's started telling her that there's a baby in my belly. Now, she points to my belly and says "baby" and then gives us the confused look and looks for the baby around me. She doesn't understand why there's a baby, but she can't see it. The first night he told her about it she began rocking me and singing. I think she was trying to put the baby to sleep for me.

She's learned to say "Maw-maw" and "Gan-daddy." Those would by my parents. She now calls them ALL the time. No matter of what house she's at.

She blew her nose for the first time last week. Her daddy said I had to include this.

On a bigger note, she used her big girl potty for the first time last night. She's been talking about peepeeing and now she uses it as an excuse to take her diaper off and be naked. She can't pee with her shirt on either. I wonder if this is the official beginning of potting.

What else?
um. We're moving back home at the end of April. I'm extremely excited about this. We found a really nice 2 bedroom apartment with washer, dryer, dishwasher, and carport in a quite neighborhood. It's also really close to my best friends house. We couldn't ask for better neighbors either.

For baby news, I don't really have much. I'm entering my last trimester and haven't had an ultrasound since I was about 11 weeks along. I still don't know if it's a boy or girl, but I think and really hope it's a boy. I've always heard that girls had really fast heart beats, and if this is true it's certainly a boy. I can feel him kick and things now. It's not as forceful and Maggs was but this pregnancy has been nothing like it was with her. We've got names ready for either gender thought. It'll be Luke August or Zoe Katherine.

So many changes

We've all been super busy these last couple months. The semester is finally starting to slow down and come to an end. We have less homework to worry with and more time for Maggie. She getting so super cute. Her personality is becoming more obvious everyday. She says "uh-uh" to all most everything no matter if she wants it or not. If you do something she doesn't like then she points her finger at you and makes it all crooked and says "no" in this cute little baby voice. She's going to be feisty. She loves to tickle our belly and back. She loves playing with cars now. Baby dolls not so much. She has some hot wheel cars that she drives around the coffee table and makes vroom noises.
She had tonsillitis this weekend. It was so sad seeing her sick. Coughing hurt and she cry this awful painful cry. I hated it. Luckily, the antibiotics are certainly helping.

She changed daycare this week. She adjusting very well. She won't walk all the way in by herself yet but she's getting closer to doing it everyday.

Now, for the biggest change of our lives. WE'RE PREGNANT! It's going to be another June baby. Apparently, Isy is only fertile one months a year. ;) Hopefully, It'll be a boy. I'm willing it to be. Any chance I get I call it a boy. I can't wait to see how Maggie adjusts to the new baby.

She loves computer chairs now. She plays on ours all the time. She climbs on it and twirls around. Ours has no back or arms, so it's like a stool. At church this weekend, she refused to sit anywhere other than the computer chair that was against the wall. Once she got in it, she was the perfect baby during church. She sat so quietly and drank from her cup and ate her goldfish.
I swear she thinks she 16 already.
